Job summary

DelDOT is seeking a senior hydrologic technical expert to lead hydrogeologic evaluations and support water‑supply permitting and source water protection projects in Delaware. The role provides technical leadership, mentoring, and QA for hydrology staff, coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies to improve permitting efficiency while protecting groundwater.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or higher in geology, hydrology or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Geologist.
  • Three years experience in hydrogeology and stratigraphy.
  • Three years experience in analyzing and interpreting hydrogeologic data and making technical recommendations.
  • Three years experience in environmental or natural resources project management to meet objectives.
  • Three years experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hydrogeologic evaluations and support permitting modernization.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for hydrology staff.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies and contribute expert analysis to regulatory reform.
  • Review and comment on permit applications and provide technical regulatory information.
