Job summary

Motion Industries in Elkview, WV is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to perform complex on-site service, diagnostics, repair and installation of hydraulic equipment and systems across customer sites.

The role requires a technical degree and 5+ years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work on-call 24/7. You will lead on-site projects, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and provide training to customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a technical degree and five (5) or more years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, including on-site emergency repairs and upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis.
• Responsible for installation, diagnostics, repair and support for equipment installed at customer sites.
• Diagnose problems, assess severity, document findings, and decide repairs or parts replacement.
• Conducts technical analysis of product implementations and modifications per customer specs.
• Keeps customers informed about service status and recommends enhancements or repairs.
• Work under limited supervision on moderately complex repairs and installations.
• Ensure compliance with local/national regulations and Motion safety standards.
• Provides technical support and training to customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assist less experienced Technicians and may lead small-to-moderate projects at customer sites.
