Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks a Senior Applied Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulic engineering for large water resources projects, including dams, energy, fisheries, and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be a recognized leader with a PE license and 20 years of hydraulic engineering experience, plus strong project management and stakeholder skills. Travel up to 25% monthly is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering required.
• 20 years of experience in hydraulic engineering.
• 10 years of project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with FERC regulations is preferred.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead and develop high-performing project teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% monthly.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions, meetings, and workshops for project teams and clients.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and requirements.
• Initiate and lead marketing and business development pursuits.
• Identify opportunities with new and existing clients to support growth.
• Prepare and oversee reports, drawings, and specifications across project components.
• Lead QA/QC reviews per client requirements and company policies.
• Manage project and organizational risks associated with deliverables.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Mentor staff to develop future leaders.
