Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Hydraulic Structures Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in the United States. You will analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control, dams, spillways and other water resource projects, working within a collaborative environment that includes engineers across multiple disciplines.

You will lead project teams, prepare proposals, manage schedules and budgets, review drawings, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
10 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Analyze and design hydraulic structures for flood control and water resources projects.
Lead project teams and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Prepare project proposals with scopes, budgets and schedules.
Forecast workload and schedules for projects.
Prepare contract documents including drawings and specifications.
Perform construction phase engineering reviews of submittals and questions.
Conduct inspections and risk analyses for hydraulic structures.
Present technical information to project teams and clients.
Mentor junior staff and monitor project budgets and schedules.
Support business development, marketing, and recruiting activities.
