Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer to lead inspection, evaluation, and design of hydraulic structures including dams and spillways.

You will supervise multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with GEI offices, traveling to sites as needed to support project delivery. The role requires a strong background in steel and concrete structures, seismic/earthquake analysis, and proficiency with SAP2000, LS-DYNA, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Structural or Civil Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• 10 years of Civil/Structural Engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in California or able to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience with seismic analysis and finite element modeling (SAP2000, LS-DYNA, ANSYS).

Responsibilities

• Lead large projects within technical specialty and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Perform structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures (dams, spillways, outlets, gates, water conveyance, pump stations).
• Review technical reports, calculations, and bid documents.
• Develop construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Lead project plans, schedules, and budgets; oversee proposals and service delivery.
