Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc in Denver seeks a Senior Structural/Geotechnical Engineer to lead dam and hydraulic projects within an interdisciplinary team. You will drive analyses, design, and documentation for water resources, storage, and hydroelectric facilities.

The role requires a PE, 15+ years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage submittals, regulatory approvals, and mentoring of junior staff. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of related experience; hydraulic structures a plus.
• Professional Engineer certification required.
• 10+ years using Revit and/or CAD; ability to direct completion of project documents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with SAP2000, STAAD, Risa, Tekla Tedds; Lusas and LS-Dyna a plus.
• Strong proficiency in advanced FEA methods and software for extreme loads.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-office team and meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel as needed; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural work within an interdisciplinary team for dams and water projects.
• Develop designs for water supply, flood control, storage, and hydroelectric projects.
• Produce analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and other deliverables; approve methodologies.
• Assist regional capture strategy for structural and geostructural support opportunities.
• Direct project management and design lead; develop plans, sections, details, and calculations.
• Coordinate submittals and regulatory approvals; mentor junior staff.
• Compile, write and prepare reports summarizing data and design.
• Perform related administrative tasks and use software for analyses.
