Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an experienced Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineer to join the Resilience Solutions Group in Denver. The role focuses on advanced hydraulics, floodplain analysis, and probabilistic risk-informed methods for water resources planning and design.

You will lead hydraulic modeling projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver scalable workflows and cloud-enabled solutions for federal, state, and local clients.

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
Expertise in hydraulic engineering and river modeling.
Proficiency with HEC-RAS and SWMM.
Experience with FEMA and regulatory flood risk assessments.
Experience with GIS like ArcGIS Pro.

Responsibilities

Leverage expertise in hydraulic engineering to lead diverse municipal, state, and federal projects.
Develop innovative hydraulic and flood risk analysis approaches to meet project requirements.
Conduct 1D/2D hydraulic modeling of riverine systems and floodplains.
Evaluate river hydraulics and floodplain dynamics under current and future conditions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated project delivery.
Participate in client and public engagement meetings.
Develop technical reports and present to clients and stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in modeling.
Lead R&D of next-generation hydraulic analysis methodologies.
Develop strategic roadmap for advancing hydraulic modeling capabilities.
Lead adoption of probabilistic and risk-informed approaches.
Integrate emerging technologies for hydraulic modeling.
Design computational workflows leveraging cloud computing and parallel processing.
Partner with data scientists and engineers to operationalize solutions.
