Job summary

Dewberry's Orlando, FL office is seeking an Entry-level Water Resources Engineer to join our Resilience Solutions Group. You will support floodplain analysis, flood risk assessment, and hydraulic modeling under guidance.

This role provides hands-on experience with GIS, hydraulic tools, and cloud-based workflows while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team; strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in hydraulic or water resources engineering.
• Fundamental understanding of open-channel hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources principles.
• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS).
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support hydraulic and water resources projects for municipal, state, and federal clients.
• Develop and apply 1D/2D hydraulic models of rivers, floodplains, bridges, culverts, and other hydraulic structures.
• Perform hydraulic and flood risk analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with floodplain mapping, flood hazard evaluations, and water resources studies.
• Use GIS and hydraulic modeling software to support analyses and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, planners, and other technical specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in client meetings, project discussions, and field investigations as needed.
