Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter—Construction to join our Specialties Construction team. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in any South or Western regional Zurich office, including San Jose.

The position will be filled at either Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level based on experience. You will handle complex Construction Professional Liability accounts and act as a Subject Matter Expert

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• Experience in underwriting or market-facing roles with emphasis on construction liability.
• Knowledge of insurance laws, guidelines, and rating rules.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules and guidelines across Construction Professional Liability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and distributors to drive referrals and retention.
• Guide and mentor lower-level associates when needed.
• Identify renewal and new account opportunities through broker relationships and client interactions.
• Support sales culture by serving as a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
