Job summary

Pmalladmin in Jericho, NY, seeks a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to support enterprise IBM Power/AIX systems and hybrid cloud operations. The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, automation, and infrastructure lifecycle management across Linux/Unix, storage, and virtualization.

The engineer will manage VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning, and Azure deployments while aligning with security and resiliency goals. Strong scripting and IaC skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud, Linux, Unix, virtualization, storage, automation, or hybrid operations environments.
• Advanced hands‑on experience administering IBM Power Systems and AIX in enterprise production environments.
• Experience with VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning/management, PowerVM concepts, firmware coordination, capacity planning, storage presentation, virtual networking, and operational troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Azure infrastructure engineering across virtual machines, networking, storage, monitoring, governance, subscriptions, backups, and hybrid dependencies.
• Experience with Puppet configuration management, including modules, manifests, Hiera, compliance, software deployment, provisioning, and drift troubleshooting.
• Experience with Terraform, including reusable modules, state management, Git workflows, deployment pipelines, and troubleshooting deployments.

Responsibilities

• Administer IBM Power 8/9 systems, including hardware configuration, firmware lifecycle coordination, and data center deployment activities.
• Manage AIX OS configuration, patching, upgrades, device management, and high availability practices.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Puppet‑based infrastructure automation for large Unix/Linux environments.
• Design, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Azure infrastructure services in hybrid enterprise environments.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform for cloud and hybrid provisioning.
• Write Unix shell scripts for automation, health checks, monitoring, and operational support.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams for lifecycle, backup, recovery, and incident response.
