Job summary

CloudFirst is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support IBM i, AIX, storage, backup, and high availability environments. Remote role based in the U.S.; you will guide implementations, ensure solution supportability, and maintain operational reliability.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of hands-on IBM Power experience and strong communication skills for collaboration with IT, service delivery, and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years' IBM Power Systems experience.
• Strong experience with IBM i, VIOS, high availability (PowerHA, MIMIX) and SAN replication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with IT staff and Sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support IBM Power Systems, IBM i, AIX, storage, and backup infrastructure.
• Serve as technical liaison between IT Infrastructure, Service Delivery, and Sales.
• Monitor security and recommend improvements to raise security posture and resilience.
• Install and manage PowerHA, MIMIX, and SAN replication.
• Provide after-hours support for emergencies and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation and runbooks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
