The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, change validation, and cross‑functional collaboration across data center, virtualization, and cloud teams.

Qualifications

• Experience administering IBM Power 8/9 and AIX in production.
• Familiarity with VIOS, HMC, and NIM for deployments and DR.
• Proficient in automation, scripting, and infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of Azure, Linux, and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Strong documentation and change validation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Administer IBM Power 8/9 hardware, firmware, capacity, and provisioning.
• Manage AIX OS config, patching, tuning, and storage with VIOS and LVM.
• Configure HMC, NIM deployments, and SMIT-based administration.
• Develop Puppet modules and automation for large Unix/Linux environments.
• Use Git for infra code management; support branch strategies and reviews.
• Design and maintain Terraform-based provisioning and pipelines.
• Implement Azure cloud services and hybrid connectivity for workloads.
• Maintain cross-platform resiliency, incident troubleshooting, and runbooks.
• Ensure security, compliance, and operational governance in changes.
