Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC. is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to support and improve enterprise hybrid cloud platforms across IBM Power, AIX, Linux, and virtualization technologies.

You will work on VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning, and Terraform-based infrastructure automation within Azure and on-premises environments. The role combines hands-on engineering with DevOps practices, emphasizing secure, resilient, cost-conscious operations and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud, Linux, Unix, virtualization, storage, automation, or hybrid operations environments.
• Advanced hands-on experience administering IBM Power Systems and AIX in enterprise production environments.
• Experience with VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning/management, PowerVM concepts, firmware coordination, capacity planning, storage presentation, virtual networking, and operational troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Administer IBM Power 8/9 enterprise systems, including hardware configuration, firmware lifecycle coordination, capacity planning, platform provisioning, hardware diagnostics, and system initialization support.
• Support ASMI configuration, IBM Power hardware monitoring, hardware maintenance coordination, and data center deployment activities across multiple locations.
• Administer AIX operating systems in enterprise production environments, including OS config, patching, upgrades, device management, LVMs, filesystems, networking, performance tuning, security maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Administer VIOS environments, including virtual storage, networking, client LPAR dependencies, resource presentation, maintenance coordination, and troubleshooting.
• Design, provision, and support LPARs, including resource allocation, storage presentation, virtual networking, capacity validation, standards, and lifecycle management.
