Job summary

Harry and David, LLC seeks a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to support and enhance hybrid cloud platforms across Linux, UNIX, IBM Power, and AIX environments. You will manage VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning, Terraform, and Azure resources, ensuring secure, resilient operations.

You will troubleshoot complex incidents, document processes, and drive automation and observability across on-prem and cloud components to optimize cost and performance.

Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on experience administering IBM Power Systems and AIX in production environments.
• Experience with VIOS, HMC, LPAR provisioning/management, PowerVM concepts, and firmware coordination.
• Proficient in Puppet, Git, Terraform, and scripting for automation and config management.
• Experience managing Azure infrastructure including VMs, networking, storage, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Administer IBM Power 8/9 systems, AIX OS, VIOS, HMC, and LPARs as part of enterprise reliability.
• Develop and troubleshoot Puppet-based automation and configuration management solutions.
• Design, deploy, and operate Azure infrastructure in hybrid environments, with emphasis on security and cost control.
• Use Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Git for version-controlled workflows.
• Maintain Linux configuration standards, monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness.
