Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced HVAC/R technician in Summerville, SC to oversee installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC systems across store facilities. You will diagnose complex issues, manage preventive maintenance, and mentor junior technicians.

The role requires strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and the ability to coordinate service teams and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA certification (Type I and II) or Universal required for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems and related equipment.
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial/industrial systems.
• Maintains preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manages refrigeration units and racks in supermarket environments and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates field teams, mentors technicians, and handles escalated service issues.
