Job summary

Abbott in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced HVACR technician to install, maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems in a healthcare diagnostics facility.

The role involves reviewing MEP drawings, leading installations with control programming, responding to service calls and alarms, and ensuring compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, and other standards while working with BAS/CMMS/CAMF tools. On-site, full-time.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVACR or related field, or equivalent technical training.
• 7+ years in commercial/industrial HVACR roles, healthcare setting preferred.
• 5+ years with equipment up to 100 tons and CRAC/VAV systems.
• Experience with BAS, CMMS, CAFM and environmental monitoring tools.
• EPA-608 Universal Refrigeration certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, operate, and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Review drawings and MEP plans; lead installations with building automation link.
• Respond to service calls and alarms; participate in 24-hour on-call program.
• Inspect systems, coordinate with contractors, ensure EHS compliance.
• Document GMP/QA work; follow SOPs and assist training of technicians.
