Job summary

The City of Dallas is hiring a Senior HVAC Technician to troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and install commercial and residential HVAC or refrigeration equipment across city facilities. You will troubleshoot electrical components and pneumatic controls, perform preventive maintenance, and supervise apprentices while supporting building comfort and safety.

Applicants must have a HS diploma or GED, 4+ years of HVAC/refrigeration experience, 2+ years on 5-ton systems or larger, and an EPA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four years of experience with air conditioning, heating and/or refrigeration repair.
• Two years with five ton systems or above.
• Must hold EPA refrigeration certification (universal preferred).
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs, and installs HVAC or refrigeration equipment.
• Evaluate electrical components and pneumatic controls for repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
• Install and repair small electric motors in forced air systems and related equipment.
• Train apprentices and respond to hot/cold calls to adjust building temperature.
• Maintain work orders, time sheets, and supplies; document progress.
• Perform other trades tasks as needed.
