Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician III to install, maintain, and repair complex HVAC equipment across City facilities. This role serves as a lead for Technicians I and II and acts as a backup to the Supervisor, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Candidates should have five years of HVAC or refrigeration experience, EPA 608 certification, and a valid driver's license. Availability for varying shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime is required to keep City buildings

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Five years of HVAC/refrigeration experience, including 5-ton+ systems.
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical repair and maintenance for HVAC equipment and related systems.
Troubleshoots electrical components and pneumatic controls on HVAC equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and refrigerant recovery compliant with regulations.
Installs and repairs small motors; provides input on complex projects.
Trains and leads Technicians I and II; acts as backup to Supervisor.
Responds to hot/cold calls and adjusts building temperatures as needed.
