Job summary

City of Dallas seeks an HVAC Technician II to install, maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment across city facilities. The role involves troubleshooting, calibrating, and fixing commercial and residential systems to keep buildings comfortable and compliant with safety standards.

Requires 4 years of HVAC/R experience, High school diploma or GED, EPA 608 certification, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Four (4) years of HVAC/refrigeration repair experience.
Two (2) years with five ton (or above) systems.
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

Performs mechanical labor, repair, and maintenance on City HVAC equipment and related systems.
Troubleshoots electrical components and pneumatic controls on HVAC refrigeration equipment.
Performs routine preventive maintenance and checks on HVAC/refrigeration equipment.
Installs and repairs small electric motors in forced air systems and related appliances.
Transfers knowledge to HVAC Apprentices and other helpers; responds to hot and cold calls.
Maintains records of work orders and materials; monitors supplies and purchases.
Performs other trades work as needed.
