Job summary

Jobot seeks a Senior HVAC Technician to join its Shared Services Division in Columbus, OH. You will lead advanced diagnostics and repairs on industrial HVAC/R systems, plan complex jobs, and mentor junior technicians to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires 8+ years of HVAC/R experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate contractors and document work in the CMMS. This on-site, first-shift position offers competitive pay and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• HVAC/R apprenticeship, trade-school certificate, associate degree, or equivalent training and field experience required.
• 8+ years of HVAC/R experience, including independent work on commercial/industrial equipment and controls.
• Applicable state/local trade licenses as required.
• Proficiency in refrigeration diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, building automation, hydronic systems, brazing, and safe job planning.
• NATE, HVAC Excellence, manufacturer, boiler operator, OSHA, confined-space, rigging, or combustion-analysis credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced corrective, preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on industrial HVAC/R systems.
• Troubleshoot complex failures using historical data, alarms, measurements, and tests; identify root causes.
• Maintain and repair chillers, rooftops, heat pumps, boilers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, fans, and related equipment.
• Service refrigeration circuits and associated components.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control systems including VFDs, sensors, actuators, and safeties.
• Operate building automation systems using trends, alarms, and setpoints.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical diagrams.
• Plan complex jobs with scope, hazards, permits, and return-to-service criteria.
• Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or reliability improvements.
• Inspect completed work for scope, code compliance, and safety.
• Mentor technicians in diagnostics, controls, and safe work practices.
