Job summary

HVAC RNTL seeks an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to layout and install applied HVAC equipment on customer sites. The role leads a team of installation technicians, performs startup, and coordinates with project managers and customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance, an HVAC certification, OSHA 10, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel to site locations across the US is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training.
• 5+ years experience in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related fields.
• EPA Certification preferred (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, etc.).
• Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install applied HVAC equipment independently, with little to no direction.
• Supervise installation technicians on customer job sites.
• Perform startup of applied equipment and complete log sheet after startup.
• Communicate with end user customers on installation and startup; answer questions as needed.
• Perform depot maintenance, testing and repairs including refrigerant handling and piping repairs.
• Electrical troubleshooting with lockout/tagout and PPE.
• Read wiring diagrams and verify voltages.
• Collect superheat and sub-cooling data.
• Navigate control panels to operate equipment and adjust setpoints.
• Lead a team on multiple chiller applications.
