Job summary

HVAC RNTL is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to layout and install applied HVAC equipment independently, with minimal direction. The role supervises a team of installation technicians on customer job sites, performing maintenance, testing and repairs of applied equipment.

Candidate must have a high level of communication with Project Managers and Service Coordinators, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple sites while delivering quality work on time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training.
• 5+ years in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related fields.
• Electrical knowledge required; EPA certification preferred.
• Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics.
• Strong problem solving and multitasking.
• Excellent customer service and ability to train juniors.

Responsibilities

• Layout and install HVAC equipment independently, with little direction.
• Supervise installation technicians on customer job sites.
• Startup of applied equipment and complete startup log sheet.
• Communicate with end user customers on installation and startup.
• Depot maintenance, testing and repairs including refrigerant work.
• Electrical troubleshooting with PPE and lockout/tagout.
• Read wiring diagrams and verify input/output voltages.
• Collect superheat and sub-cooling data.
• Navigate control panels to start/stop and change setpoints.
• Lead a team of installers on a multiple chiller application.
