Job summary

Daikin Applied Ltd. is seeking a full-time HVAC Service Technician IV to service commercial and industrial equipment in the Washington DC area. You will lead a team, manage maintenance/start-up projects, and provide expert troubleshooting across rooftops, chillers, boilers, and split systems.

This role includes on-the-job training, safety leadership, and collaboration with sales on site surveys and estimates. Expect local travel and a strong focus on growth and excellence in service.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred associate degree or HVAC technical certification.
• 7+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Licensing/training as required by local law.
• Emergency call coverage rotation.
• Experience mentoring less experienced technicians.
• EPA Universal Technician certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• First aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for up to 10 HVAC technicians.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective start-up of maintenance contracts and efficient installation.
• Review contracts/projects and negotiate subcontract agreements as needed.
• Use Service Management System to plan work and ensure contract commitments.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and ensure equipment is in good order.
• Respond to emergency service calls and guide troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist Sales with site surveys, estimates review, and technical training.
• Promote safety and OSHA-compliant practices on site.
• Provide proactive feedback to improve service outcomes.
• Mentor technicians and assess performance for development.
• Stay current on Daikin products and installation/maintenance procedures.
• Travel locally with some overnight stays.
