Job summary

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing in Hawaii seeks an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair and service residential and light commercial systems.

You will work independently, handle diagnostics, refrigerant work, and minor installs, while mentoring junior staff and building accurate field estimates. EPA 608 certification, strong customer service, and ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Certification (current and in good standing).
• 1+ year of HVAC service experience preferred.
• Must lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work outdoors on roofs/attics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair AC system issues including boards, motors, capacitors, relays, and thermostats.
• Perform preventive maintenance: clean filters, coils, drain pans, and inspect components.
• Read electrical diagrams to support diagnostics.
• Build service-call documentation and present repair options to customers.
• Mentor Maintenance Laborers and Technicians on the jobsite.
• Route independently and handle after-hours calls when needed.
