Job summary

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing in Hawaii hires experienced HVAC Service Technicians who diagnose, repair and maintain residential and light commercial systems. As the face of the company, you build strong customer relationships while delivering high-quality service.

You will handle diagnostics, refrigerant work, light installs, and preventive maintenance, working independently on a full route and mentoring junior staff. EPA 608 certification required; valid license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• EPA 608 Certification (current and in good standing).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors.
• 1+ year HVAC service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair common AC issues (boards, motors, capacitors, relays, sensors, thermostats).
• Assist senior technicians on complex calls to develop skills.
• Perform preventive maintenance: clean filters, coils, drain pans, inspect components.
• Take temperature/pressure readings and communicate findings clearly.
• Leak detection and refrigerant repairs per EPA 608 standards.
• Recover and recharge refrigerant; track quantities in Service Titan.
• Brazing refrigerant lines safely.
• Read electrical diagrams to support diagnostics.
• Handle light installs when needed; document service in Service Titan.
• Build service-call documentation: findings, parts, photos, recommendations.
• Generate field estimates and present options to customers.
• Run full route; take after-hours calls as needed.
• Mentor maintenance staff on jobsite.
• Maintain clean, organized jobsite and vehicle.
