Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration in Plano, TX. You will lead installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance of HVAC/R systems in supermarket environments, ensuring safety, compliance, and uptime.

You’ll supervise field teams, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate with vendors while maintaining accurate logs, reports, and paperwork. A valid EPA certification and commercial driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience (minimum).
• 6 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience with an AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling (Type I/II or universal).
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
• Commercial driving record with restrictions in last 5 years; no major convictions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems; ductwork and control panels.
• Presents diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implements preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manages supermarket refrigeration units and ensures compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Mentors technicians, coordinates field work, and handles on-call rotation.
