Job summary

Walmart in Alvin, TX is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration to lead installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems at our facilities. You will coordinate field teams, mentor technicians, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA Type I and II or Universal refrigerant handling certification.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, or related area (or 2 years Walmart store experience).
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass MVR; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes.
• Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating technician skill development.
• Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet business priorities.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operational needs outside regular hours.
