Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Permanent Senior HVAC/R Technician to join our California team. This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC/R systems with emphasis on refrigeration and Building Automation Systems.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of hands-on experience, knowledge of BAC systems, and a proven ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. On-call availability is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in HVAC/R maintenance and repair, focused on commercial/industrial refrigeration.
• Experience with Building Automation Systems: installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior staff, with commitment to development.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve HVAC/R issues.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations for HVAC/R systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• HVAC/R certification or equivalent technical qualification.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment.
• On-call availability for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC/R systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC/R equipment and systems; propose solutions.
• Install and configure Building Automation Systems to optimize energy efficiency and performance.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance for HVAC/R equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering to design and implement new HVAC/R systems and modifications.
• Mentor junior staff and promote continuous learning and improvement.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspection, and repair work.
• Stay current with HVAC/R technologies and industry trends.
• Be available for on-call emergencies as needed.
