Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration in Bradenton, FL. You will oversee installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of HVAC/R systems, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and EPA rules.

You will mentor field teams, manage refrigerant handling, and coordinate service work while supporting on-call rotations to meet critical store needs. Competitive pay and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC‑R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes.
• Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
• Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service call coordination.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operational needs outside regular hours.
