Job summary

Walmart in North Charleston, SC seeks an HVAC/R Technician to install and service commercial refrigeration and building systems, including ductwork, controls, and energy management.

You will diagnose, repair, and prevent issues across retail cooling units, walk‑ins, and custom refrigeration while following OSHA and EPA 608 protocols.

This role involves mentoring apprentices, coordinating with customers, and supporting on‑call service with a company vehicle in a regional district.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification required; 2 years’ maintenance or 4 years’ related field experience.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal refrigerant handling certification required.
• Valid state driver’s license; clean driving record with limited violations.

Responsibilities

• Installs HVAC and refrigeration systems and related components in commercial settings.
• Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across systems.
• Implements preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Mentors apprentices and less‑experienced technicians on procedures and safety.
• Drives company vehicle for service calls and regional coverage; participates in on‑call rotation.
• Coordinates with customers and external service providers as needed.

Education

HVAC/R certification (Vocational/Technical)
