Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced commercial mechanical project manager to lead major HVAC/plumbing projects in the Bay Area, with roles open in San Jose or Alameda. You will oversee multi-department teams, drive sales efforts, and manage budgets and client relations from engagement through completion.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in related fields, a strong track record on sizable projects, and a BS in Mechanical Eng or Construction Mgmt; MBA or PE are a plus. DOE salary is highly competitive.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in commercial mechanical project management, marketing or client mgmt.
• Proven track record on HVAC/plumbing construction projects or estimating/design mgmt ($50k–$25M).
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business.
• BS in Mechanical Eng or Construction Mgmt; MBA or PE are a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and project management abilities with organizational skill.
• Ability to handle high-volume issues with good judgment and discretion.
• Experience leading HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical projects from client engagement to completion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single source of responsibility to the company and customer for projects.
• Coordinate and supervise staff from Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service.
• Manage and supervise employees assigned to the project throughout its life.
• Perform sales support: estimating, conceptual design, proposals, presentations, contracts.
• Prepare budget projections and rigorously control costs.
• Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
• Provide supervision and coordination of all departmental efforts during construction.
• Prepare and issue letters, proposals, contracts, change orders and strategies.
• Demonstrate flexibility by managing varying work across locations and teams.
