Job summary

LB&B Associates, Inc. seeks a full-time HVAC Mechanic to support maintenance, repair, and optimization of HVAC systems at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse in Charlotte, NC. The role requires diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems, ensuring safety and indoor air quality, and handling on-site maintenance tasks.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm. Candidates should have 5–10 years of HVAC experience, NC licensing, and EPA 608 Universal certification. OSHA 10/30 preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of HVAC experience in commercial/government facilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal) required; NC HVAC license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and control systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform repairs.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance for HVAC equipment.
• Monitor and adjust BAS to optimize temperature, humidity, and air quality.
• Respond to service calls and work orders promptly.
• Maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with HVAC regulations, safety codes, and building standards.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new HVAC equipment.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure seamless operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and use PPE as required.
