Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to support facilities operations at a federal courthouse in Richmond, VA. This full-time, on-site role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, and building systems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The successful candidate will have at least five years of commercial HVAC experience, EPA Universal certification, and proficiency with BAS, pumps, and electrical systems. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent commercial HVAC experience on large equipment.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• Ability to maintain/repair boilers, chillers, hot water systems, air handlers, and VAVs.
• Experience with BAS and energy management in commercial facilities.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on large boilers, chillers, hot water systems, and domestic plumbing.
• Inspect and repair air handling units, VAV components, and HVAC equipment for energy efficiency.
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical systems, pumps, heat exchangers, and hydraulics.
• Diagnose electrical issues related to HVAC and building equipment; follow safety procedures.
• Service BAS and HVAC controls to ensure reliable operations.
• Carry out general building maintenance such as carpentry and painting as needed.
• Inspect buildings to identify issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Document maintenance and repairs accurately per facility procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff across trades to coordinate work.
• Provide hands-on support to resolve equipment failures and minimize downtime.
