Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a journeyman HVAC technician to service a portfolio of buildings, performing mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration tasks in a truck-route environment. You will read drawings and lay out materials, follow safety standards, and participate in on-call/emergency coverage, with a union-aligned pay range.

This role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Five or more years' experience in the HVAC service field.
• Must have CFC Universal Certification.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
• Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks (climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs).
• Must be able to respond to alarm calls during off-hours, weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a background check.
• Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical and refrigeration service work including PM and Repair in a truck-route environment.
• Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service and repair work.
• Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and equipment.
• Requisition new supplies and equipment and adhere to safety procedures.
• Support on-call and emergency response as required.
