Job summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is seeking an Engineering Shop Supervising Maintainer to oversee HVAC operation, repair and preventive maintenance across Museum spaces. You will schedule daily work, supervise Maintainers, and report to management while managing supplies and equipment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, an NYC Refrigeration Operator's license, and at least three years of museum maintenance experience, with centrifugal chillers and BMS systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Valid New York City Fire Department Refrigeration Operator's License.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of Maintainers and Assistant Maintainers on the shift.
• Performs highly responsible independent work in operation, maintenance and repair of Museum mechanical equipment.
• Supervises environmental condition maintenance in Museum spaces.
• Assign daily work to maintainers and follow up through completion.
• Respond to building emergencies and monitor BMS alarms.
• Maintain HVAC water treatment systems and knowledge of floor plans.
