Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to design and optimize complex systems across commercial, laboratory, and industrial facilities in the United States. You will develop integrated ventilation, cooling and heating solutions, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, code-compliant outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of HVAC experience, strong skills with TRACE 700 / AutoCAD, and the ability to produce P&ID diagrams and design flowcharts.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years in HVAC and chilled water design for diverse facilities.
• Experience with design tools and producing P&ID diagrams and flow diagrams.
• Knowledge of HVAC codes and standards; ASHRAE preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and optimize HVAC systems for various facilities.
• Develop integrated systems and components for commercial, lab, and industrial projects.
• Prepare technical specs and perform design calculations.
• Support engineers, PMs, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely design delivery.
• Assist with facility reviews and upgrade recommendations; present findings.
