Job summary

Trane Technologies Energy Services in Upstate New York is seeking a Sr. HVAC Development Engineer to lead design-build and energy services contracting efforts. The role supports acquisition, costing, and proposal development, collaborating with internal teams and customers to deliver turnkey HVAC solutions.

The Sr. HVAC Development Engineer will oversee design-build turnkey projects, manage budgets, and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and Account Managers. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Project Management and/or HVACR related work experience required.
• Working knowledge of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and HVAC controls.
• Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours, including some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and discusses turnkey HVAC solutions with stakeholders.
• Collects project data to assemble turnkey scope and estimate.
• Analyzes project needs and compiles detailed cost estimates.
• Supports budgeting, RFQs, and subcontractor coordination.
• Communicates with customers, subcontractors, and engineers on changes to estimates.
• Provides technical support in pursuit of Trane business and maintains subcontractor relations.
