Job summary

KAI Enterprises is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and manage HVAC systems across building projects. You will perform independent design evaluations, collaborate with multiple departments, and ensure compliance with codes and standards while delivering cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a PE license, a degree in mechanical engineering, and at least five years in HVAC design. You will lead design efforts, prepare detailed drawings, and mentor teammates as projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical engineering with HVAC focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• Strong understanding of boilers, chillers, pumps, and air handling.
• Knowledge of NFPA, ASHRAE codes and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems and lead project design for centralized and decentralized setups.
• Prepare engineering analyses, budgets, calculations, and life cycle costs.
• Create detailed drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Develop construction specifications and ensure code compliance.
• Communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and team workloads.
• Perform site visits and field observations for QA.
• Present technical results to internal teams and clients.
