Job summary

EMCOR Group is seeking an experienced HVAC design engineer in Fresno, CA to support design-build projects. You will review engineered solutions, coordinate external resources, perform load calculations, and develop technical and cost proposals for complex mechanical systems.

Qualified candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years in HVAC design with central plants and energy efficiency expertise. Strong communication and multi-project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Professional Engineering license is required.
CEM certification is highly preferred.
10+ years of HVAC design/construction experience.
Extensive design experience with chilled water central plants.
Knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI codes is a plus.
Independent decision making is required.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with energy efficiency and performance-based projects.

Responsibilities

Develops engineering scope of work and equipment selections.
Designs mechanical systems including central chiller plants and air handling units.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and third-party consultants.
Prepare preliminary design layouts for estimating.
Perform load calculations and equipment sizing.
Deliver client presentations and write technical proposals.
Perform Title 24 compliance calculations and energy analyses.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
