Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer in Fresno to support design-build projects with project managers and sales staff. The role involves reviewing engineered HVAC solutions, coordinating outsourcing resources, performing load calculations, and preparing permit documents.

Responsibilities include developing design layouts, performing heating/cooling load calculations, and delivering technical proposals while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• CEM, highly preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in HVAC Design/construction.
• Extensive design experience with chilled water central plants.
• Knowledge of OSHPD/HCAI codes is a plus.
• Independent decision making is required.
• MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Adobe Acrobat skills.
• AutoCAD MEP or Revit experience.
• Experience with energy efficiency and/or performance-based projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops an engineering scope of work and recommends equipment selections.
• Mechanical designs for central chiller plants, package units, split systems, and air handling units.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and third-party consultants.
• Prepares preliminary design layouts for estimating and checks quality of work.
• Performs load calculations, piping and duct sizing, and Title 24 compliance.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations and proposals.
