Job summary

Johnson Controls in Metairie, LA is seeking an experienced Building Controls Engineer responsible for service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and sub-systems. You will ensure quality, timeliness and efficiency, develop software, and provide submittals to communicate design and operation to customers and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum five years' experience in construction/service/HVAC
• Knowledge of control theory and building automation systems
• Experience with low-voltage building subsystems and industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet)
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to non-technical audiences and use CAD/drafting tools

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services complex building control systems; creates diagrams, BOMs, network layouts and schematics
• Develops and tests software to operate systems per facility requirements
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals
• Orders and tracks materials for assigned jobs
• Assists in loading/commissioning of controllers and validates system functionality
• Provides field change information for as-built drawings and software
• Keeps stakeholders informed of progress and issues
• Participates in training for owner/operator and value engineering activities
