Job summary

Johnson Controls in Houston seeks an experienced Engineer to design, configure, and service HVAC building control systems and related low‑voltage subsystems. You will ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service, repair, and design work, and communicate clear submittals to customers and teams.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering with five years’ experience is required, along with knowledge of building automation and protocols such as LON and BACnet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 5 years' experience.
• Knowledge of construction/service/HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of control theory, building automation systems.
• Experience with integrating low voltage subsystems using LON, BACnet, etc.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for a non-technical audience and strong CAD skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs and services technically complex building control systems; creates diagrams, BOM, schedules, and schematics.
• Develops and tests software for system operation per facility requirements.
• Produces drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Orders and tracks materials for assigned jobs.
• Assists in loading and commissioning of systems and validation with subcontractors.
