Job summary

Honeywell in Woonsocket, RI is seeking a Lead Field Service HVAC Controls/BAS Technician to deliver advanced technical support, lead installations, and mentor junior technicians. The role reports to the Service Manager and follows a Hybrid schedule from Acton, MA.

You will troubleshoot DDC/HVAC controls, program Spyder, CIPer, WEBs, EBI, and Niagara platforms, interpret drawings, and ensure safe, compliant operations while meeting project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC controls and building automation systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, DDC systems, and BAS technologies.
• Proficiency in advanced troubleshooting and diagnosing complex HVAC control and BAS issues.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with programming, configuring, commissioning, and modifying HVAC control systems, including DDC controllers and software.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or direction to other field technicians.
• Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite installation, commissioning, and service of Honeywell BAS including DDC controllers and networked devices.
• Serve as the technical lead on projects, providing direction and training to technicians, subcontractors, and customers.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics of HVAC control systems across VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, sensors, actuators, and networks (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
• Program, configure, and commission Honeywell platforms such as Spyder, CIPer, WEBs, EBI, and Niagara-based systems.
• Interpret control drawings, wiring schematics, and sequences of operation to validate system functionality.
• Conduct system startups, point-to-point verification, and commissioning to meet project specs and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers and customers to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Identify system optimization opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reliability.
• Provide mentoring to junior technicians and support development of troubleshooting and commissioning knowledge.
• Ensure accurate documentation, redlines, service reports, and as-built drawings per Honeywell standards.
