Job summary

ROI Agency in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Designer III to own large, complex 2D design packages for high-voltage substations. The role leads drawing workflows, enforces CAD standards, and acts as a primary technical checker while mentoring junior designers.

The candidate will coordinate multi-discipline layouts and ensure QA/QC across production deliverables, supporting critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

4–7+ years of 2D drafting and design experience, HV substation experience required.
Expert-level understanding of structural steel shapes and concrete foundation design.
Proven track record leading large-scale structural drawing sets.

Responsibilities

Manage and finalize construction drawing packages for major high-voltage substation projects with minimal supervision.
Develop complex 2D structural layouts and foundation plans; create fabrication drawing sets.
Act as lead checker for QA/QC reviews of 2D drawing packages for accuracy and constructability.
Coordinate cross-discipline alignments to resolve layout conflicts with electrical, civil, and physical design teams.
Mentor Designer I/II and drafting staff to foster growth and technical excellence.
