Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Substation System Protection Engineer to join our team. The System Protection Engineer works on electric substation design projects for high-voltage utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects.

He/she will apply their engineering knowledge and experience to fulfill the principal duties and responsibilities listed below. He/she will also work with other internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 8 years related work experience in high voltage substation design.
• PE license required or registered.
• Experience with protection and control design for 4kV–230kV systems.
• Knowledge of NERC system protection coordination requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Develop protection and control specifications for high voltage substations.
• Prepare SCADA and communications specifications and I/O mapping.
• Create one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and flags for QA/QC.
• Coordinate with project teams and field personnel during testing and commissioning.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and mentors to junior staff.
