Job summary

root/edge is seeking an Electrical Engineer for HV/MV operations across a utility-scale solar and storage fleet. This remote role is the technical owner of the operating fleet, focusing on reliability and compliance across HV/MV systems in the United States.

You’ll lead root-cause analyses, support project execution for new builds, and interact with regulators (NERC PRC, CAISO/ERCOT). A strong background in ISO/RTO markets, protective relays, SCADA, and field troubleshooting is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in HV/MV electrical engineering across operating assets and project delivery.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving plant and substation issues using relay data, SCADA, inverter logs.
• Knowledge of protection and control schemes, transformers, breakers, cables, metering, substation SCADA.
• ISO/RTO market experience and NERC PRC standards familiarity.
• PE license is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-informed troubleshooting of HV/MV system events across the fleet.
• Conduct root-cause analysis using relay reports, SCADA data, and equipment diagnostics.
• Define and implement upgrade and retrofit projects to improve reliability.
• Support regulatory compliance (NERC PRC, regional ISOs) and ensure readiness.
• Oversee design corrections for new builds applying operating lessons.
• Coordinate with EPCs and vendors to protect schedule and cost.
