Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer and Regional Technical Leader to provide technical authority and leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will guide HV substation design from 230kV to 345kV and mentor a growing team of engineers.

This role requires a PE license, 15 years of related experience, and willingness to travel. Location options include multiple U.S. offices; hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline; PE license; 15 years of related experience.
• Domestic and international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects from 230kV to 345kV.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) for substation physical design and related systems.
• Mentor engineering staff and support business development; oversee team performance and resource planning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for end-to-end project delivery from planning through startup.
• Drive standards development and continuous improvement across projects.
