Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Engineer | Regional Technical Leader to lead HV substation design and grow a team of engineers. You will act as Engineer of Record, oversee technical design authority, and guide delivery from planning through startup across multiple offices.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and advancing technical excellence while ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to CDM Smith quality procedures. Travel to various US locations may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
15 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead design, execution, and delivery of HV substation projects 230kV–345kV.
Serve as Engineer of Record and technical authority for substation physical design.
Review and approve engineering deliverables, studies, and calculations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for planning, design, construction, and startup.
Drive technical excellence through reviews, standards development, and improvements.
