IPX Power USA, LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end HV/MV system execution for utility-scale solar and storage projects. You will manage interconnections, substation/transmission design, and MV collection systems from development to operations.

The role requires deep substation design, power system studies, field troubleshooting, and experience with protection systems. Strong coordination with EPCs, ISOs, and regulators is essential. PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading HV substations (345kV–500kV) and MV collection systems (up to 34.5kV).
• Experience managing EPCs, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Diagnose and resolve plant and substation issues using relay data, SCADA, inverter logs, and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of NERC PRC & MOD standards and CAISO/ERCOT requirements.
• Understanding of HV/MV equipment, protection schemes, metering, and substation SCADA.
• Proficiency with steady-state modeling tools (ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills for technical/financial analysis.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards; PE license preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and technical review of HV substations (115kV–500kV) and MV systems.
• Direct EPCs, Engineers of Record, and consultants to optimize design and schedule.
• Own interconnection scope and negotiate with ISOs/utilities (CAISO/ERCOT).
• Troubleshoot system events including relay operations and equipment failures.
• Perform root-cause analysis using relay events, SCADA data, and diagnostics.
• Define upgrade/retrofit projects to improve reliability and performance.
• Support regulatory compliance (NERC PRC/MOD, CAISO/ERCOT).
• Support Operations with technical issue resolution and fleet optimization.
• Develop engineering standards, specs, EPC exhibits, testing protocols.
• Witness FAT/SAT, commissioning, energization activities.
• Assist EPC RFPs and supply agreements with technical requirements.
• Contribute to IE diligence and project financing.
• Coordinate across teams to resolve permitting/regulatory constraints.
