IPX Power is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end HV switchyard, substation, and MV system design for utility-scale solar and storage projects. You will steer technical decisions, coordinate EPCs, utilities, and vendors, and ensure interconnection readiness from development through operations.

The role requires deep HV/MV experience, proficiency with power system studies, and strong program management skills.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience leading HV substations (345kV–500kV) and MV collection systems
• Experience managing EPCs, consultants, major equipment vendors, and cross-functional teams
• Experience with FACTS & Series Compensation including SVCs and STATCOMs
• Strong knowledge of NERC PRC & MOD standards and CAISO/ERCOT requirements
• Deep understanding of HV/MV equipment, protection, control, metering, and SCADA
• Solid foundation in power system studies and steady-state modeling tools
• Advanced Excel skills for technical, performance, and financial analysis
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards
• PE license is highly preferred
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; Master’s/PhD a plus

Responsabilités

• Lead the technical program lifecycle for HV substations and switchyards (115kV–500kV) to meet interconnection standards
• Serve as primary liaison between internal teams, utilities, vendors, and EPCs for interconnection requirements
• Define and manage divisions of responsibility (DOR) between IPP, EPCs, and utilities
• Audit program health and implement countermeasures to ensure energization and handover
• Direct EPCs, Engineers of Record, and consultants to optimize designs and control costs
• Own utility interconnection scope, including model reviews and ISO negotiations
• Provide NERC/CAISO/ERCOT compliance support and regulatory alignment
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and testing protocols
• Witness FAT/SAT, commissioning, and energization activities
• Support EPC RFPs and vendor diligence with clear technical requirements
• Contribute to IE diligence and project financing documentation
